Golf Club General Manager

Overview

The Cobble Creek Golf Club is looking for an experienced Golf Club General Manager (Club Manager) to manage all aspects of the Club including the Golf Operation, Food & Beverage service, Events & Activities and Facility upkeep. The ideal candidate is a person who has been a leader in the Golf Club, Resort and/or Hospitality industry.

Club Information:

Cobble Creek is a great community in the beautiful Western Slope of Colorado.  Located in Montrose, CO, where their slogan is “Stay Here, Play Everywhere”, you get to be part of a friendly group of people who are avid golfers and love the outdoors. 

The Cobble Creek Golf Club is a Medium Size Semi-Private Golf Club.  The Club currently consists of around 400 Members of which around 200 of those members are golfers, most of who live in the community of Cobble Creek.  Annual revenues are around $2,000,000 with approximately 24,000 rounds of Golf (Public and Members combined).  Number of Employees ranges from 14-20.

Amenities include:

  • The Links at Cobble Creek; an 18 hole Golf Course with a Pro Shop, a Driving Range, two Putting Greens and a Chipping area.
  • A Tavern for serving Food and Beverages.
  • A Banquet room for hosting Events up to around 100 patrons.
  • A Fitness area.
  • Two Pickleball courts and One Tennis court that is convertible to Two more Pickleball courts.

Experience Required

Position Experience Requirements:

We are in search of a person who has a well-developed skill set and demonstrated professional track record in the following areas:

  • A proven leader with at least 5 years managing a team of at least 10 employees.
  • Operations management experience with Golf Course and/or Food & Beverage experience preferred. (Being a PGA Professional would be a plus).
  • Minimum of 3 years with P&L responsibility.
  • Ability to do financial analysis and budgeting.
  • Excellent communicator who has proven they can motivate and lead a diverse team of employees.
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service to Members, their guests and other customers.
  • Skilled at planning and organization with Event experience a plus.
  • Experience with managing Vendor relationships.
  • Information technology experience, including Point of Sale systems, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Skilled in Public Speaking, Business Writing, Meeting Facilitation and Presentations.
  • Ability to develop relationships with members, customers, community leaders and other industry professionals.
  • High ethical and professional standards – honesty, integrity & common sense.

Essential Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Club Manager is overseen by the Club Board of Directors and is responsible for directing the work of all department managers, managing the financial stability of all operations, monitoring the quality of the Club’s products and services and ensure maximum member and guest satisfaction, while consistently achieving the Clubs annual and long-term goals

Areas of focus for the Club Manager include:

  • Member and Guest satisfaction through outstanding service, communication, and teamwork.
  • Hiring, managing and developing the staff at every level of the organization.
  • Managing all the daily financial and accounting needs of the Club with accountability .for the annual operating budget.
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to maintain and grow the Clubs revenue and customer satisfaction with activities, events and programs that enhances the reputation and brand of the Club in the community and fosters the “family club” experience for the Membership.
  • Market the Golf Course and Banquet facility to grow revenue with Tournaments, Events, Weddings, Meetings, and additional rounds of Golf.
  • Consistently ensures that the club is operated in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
