Assistant Golf Professional

Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00 Per Hour

Total Anticipated Compensation Up To: $24.00

Overview

The Assistant Golf Professional assists the Head Professional in all aspects of course management, including pro-shop operations, tournament scheduling and completion, customer service, scheduling tee times, starter, marshaling, outside service duties, merchandising, and receiving the merchandise. This position assists the Head Golf Professional in all aspects of course operations. The assignment term is full-time and includes evenings, holidays, and weekends.

Experience Required

High School Graduate and two years of golf Assistant experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

  • Jonas POS software knowledge
  • Tee-time management software knowledge (Chelsea)

Essential Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Golf Professional:

  1. Assists in administering all point of sales application revisions and needs as they apply to green fee sales, merchandise sales, and member/guest billing.
  2. Coordinates all policy and procedure revisions, updates, and implementation with Accounting Departments.
  3. Reconcile daily tee sheets, perform check-in, and receive payments from members and guests. Resolves discrepancies as it applies to duplicate charges and over or underpayment. Tracks all force posts and no-show charges as applicable.
  4. Promotes all club golf activities.
    5. Assists in creating lesson plans and provides individual and group instruction. PGA Class A or Associate required to give lessons.
    6. Maintains a clean, orderly, and well-stocked golf shop—Assists retail buyers with procurement and merchandise and shop assistants with merchandising and sales.
    7. Prepares for all golf tournaments, including coordinating scorecards, cart labels, rules sheets, score sheets, format sheets, tee prizes, pairing sheets, hole assignments, and billing members.
  5. Monitors all members’ scores and reports handicaps to USGA and bill members.
    9. Follows established opening and closing procedures.
    10. Assists with associate training.
    11. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
    12. Performs other duties as required.
    13. Interprets and enforces club policies, rules, and regulations.
    14. Attends staff and other applicable meetings
  6. Some outside service and marshaling shifts.
    15. Assist HP with merchandise inventory and control.
    16. Assist with daily close procedures and End of Month procedures.
    17. Maintains records relating to the player and guest rounds and other statistics.
    18. Assists in developing short- and long-range plans to improve the club facilities and courses.
  7. Interacts with the food and beverage director about food and beverage event needs.
    20. Assist with an overall safety program that conforms to Mission Lakes Country Club and all OSHA standards.
