Assistant Golf Professional: Aldarra GC

Just minutes east of Seattle, Aldarra Golf Club is the only golf course in Washington designed by world renowned golf course designer Tom Fazio. The Positions | We are actually posting two positions here and since there is some overlap, it seems sensible to blend them into one posting. Here are the overview details for each:

1. Asst Professional 1: This position will report to the Head Golf Professional.  This position helps operate the golf operations as seen fit by Aldarra Golf Club and Head Golf Professional and includes but is not limited to managing and training the outside service staff. Ideally, for this position, candidates will already by a PGA member or be very close to gaining their membership.
2. Asst Professional 2: This position >will also report to the Head Golf Professional; this position can be filled by someone who is Level 2, Level 1 or similar in the PGA Associate program.

Aldarra is currently filling two (2) assistant positions, with the primary difference based on candidate qualifications and experience.

Total Anticipated Compensation "average" for this posting is approximately $60,000.  (Please see Benefits Section below for significantly more detail.)

• PGA Professional or PGA Apprentice preferred (maintain PGA of America membership in good standing in an active classification; if not a member, actively begin/pursue PGA membership in a timely manner through the PGA Professional Golf management Program.
• Experience with member-centric and guest service, tournament operations, merchandising.
• Experience with Microsoft office programs including Word, Excel, and Publisher
• Golf genius Software experience preferred.
• Private Club experience preferred.
• Ability to work on holidays and weekends.
• Excellent customer service and customer focused attitude.
• Attention to detail.
• Self-motivated with desire to promote both her/himself and the facility.
• Teaching experience.

The golf shop is comprised of 6 full time PGA professionals.

Position Description: The Assistant Golf Professional will report to the Head Golf Professional.  This position helps operate the golf operations as seen fit by Aldarra Golf Club and Head Golf Professional and includes but is not limited to managing and training the outside service staff.

• Uphold a fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, as well as Aldarra’s Golf Clubs policies
• Conduct oneself in a positive professional manner and maintain a professional image
• Assist with opening and closing procedures
• Assist with golfer check in and fee collection, control and manage play
• Assist with management of outside service staff to ensure the highest quality of customer service is achieved
• Create weekly schedules, oversee staff activities, provide feedback and conduct reviews
• Assist in tournament operations and weekly events including planning, pre-tournament check lists, post tournament billing, promotion, course set up, preparation, scoring, tee prizes distribution and follow up
• Conduct individual lessons and Junior summer clinics; provide professional instruction to members and their guests
• Assist in planning and budgeting for golf operations
• Participate in Pro-Am events
• Assist in managing golf cart fleet and push carts as well as club storage
• Responsible for maintaining the clubs USGA Handicap System

Compensation & Benefits (please see Notes 1, 2 & 3 below):

• Hourly rate is based on qualifications and experience
• PGA Dues and approved PGA education paid when in “good standing”

Note1: At Aldarra Golf Club, our benefit package including PGA National and Chapter dues, medical/dental insurance, meals, 401k match, clothing allowance, holiday bonus, lessons, vacation time, has a value at/near $18,000 on annual basis.

Note2: Adding to the base pay of $46-$62k based on hourly rate, budgeted overtime, etc.  The total compensation package is estimated as a range of $64k-$80k annually DOE (which includes benefit package value of $18k/year based on Note 1.)
