Assistant Golf Professional

Great River Golf Club is one of the finest clubs in Connecticut. Great River Golf Club is owned by Sacred Heart University and operates in a semi-private business model. The golf course is ranked number 16 in the country of best collegiate golf courses. Great River is home to the LPGA Epson Tour’s Hartford Healthcare Championship played in July. Mentorship from Head Golf Professional Andy Svoboda who was the Connecticut Section Player of the Year 2023! Also the ability to learn and train under Tom Rosati the Director of Instruction at Great River Golf Club for over 20 years. 

This position can be year round or seasonal for the right candidate.

• PGA Associate or desire to become a PGA member.
• College degree preferred.
• Golf Genius, Jonas, Foretees experience a plus but not required.
• Retail experience preferred.

Specific Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Spread hospitality and goodwill among all members, guests, and fellow staff.
• Welcome all members and guests in the golf shop and around the club; anticipate and assist in their daily needs.
• Play golf with the membership on a regular basis.
• Understand the entire operation thoroughly.
• Follow and address Great River Golf Club rules and regulations when needed.
• Follow Great River Golf Club Operation’s policies and procedures.
• Assist in training all staff members.
• Instruct private lessons, group clinics, and junior clinics.
• Coordinate daily play and manage golf course pace of play
• Assist golf shop manager with displaying and maintaining golf shop merchandise.
• Assist with all duties related to outside services.
• This position is designed to train and educate the Assistant to excel in the golf industry.
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
