Assists the Head Golf Professional with planning, directing, training the golf staff. This position will be responsible for managing and supervising the golf staff in a positive and proactive leadership role when the Head Professional is not on-site or unavailable. Assists in managing all Golf and Golf-related activities.
2-3 years experience as a Assistant Golf Professional
Assists the Head Golf Professional in overseeing the entire golf staff.
Develops and mentors all reporting Staff to promote personal and professional growth and job satisfaction. Develops and maintains departmental training manuals, programs, and procedures for all areas in the Golf department. Trains Interns on golf shop operations. Use all methods of training as well as role-play training.
Assists with social media for the Golf Operation at Brookside.
Schedules outside Staff. Monitor staff hours.
Provides Golf lessons to Members and Guests. Plays Golf with Members of all skill-levels to generate enthusiasm.
Work as a Co-Instructor to local High School Golf Teams.
Interprets and enforces Golf rules and regulations.
Designs and conducts Golf clinics, Junior Golf clinics and training programs.
Organizes and conducts club tournaments by; preparing a tournament schedule, assigning an assistant to each tournament; and giving all staff members a schedule.
Oversee and manage from start to finish Monday and weekly golf outings.
Manage Hard Goods in the golf shop, including clubs, balls, gloves, golf bags, shoes glassware, etc. Modify incoming orders, when necessary, monitor special orders, oversee that all merchandise is in order and displayed tastefully.
Take weekly inventories of all stock items and participate in monthly inventory.
Participate in competitive tournaments.
Assists in maintaining records relating to Members and Guests.
Answers telephone calls.
Operates a computer to enter, retrieve, review, or modify data; utilizes word, excel, outlook, power point, Jonas, internet, outlook, and other software programs at a high level of proficiency.
Assists the Head Golf Professional in overseeing the Golf budget, monitors financial information and takes corrective action as necessary to help assure that budget goals are met. Makes recommendations to generate revenues, increase profitability and increase usage of the Club.
Assists with the safety program for the Golf department to comply with OSHA standards.
