About the Facility:
A City of Bradenton recreational facility in operation for over 25 years. River Run has established itself as one of the Gulf Coast’s most popular municipal golf courses. The 18 hole, par 70 layout, situated on the west bank of the beautiful Braden River, offers a rewarding experience for golfers of all ages and abilities.
River Run has continued to set the standard of public golf with its unique combination of affordability, strategic design and exemplary customer service. River Run caters to outings and tournament groups, maintains seasonal golf leagues, and conducts five annual amateur events known as The City of Bradenton Championship Series. They consist of the City of Bradenton Amateur Championship, Senior Amateur, Senior 2-Man, Two Man Combo and Two Man Championship.
Position Overview:
The purpose of this position is to assist in management, supervision, and administration of the City of Bradenton’s Municipal Golf Course under the direct supervision of the Golf Course Manager in such areas as budget, advertising, event planning, and supervision, computer systems, and Pro Shop retail sales, and assists in the supervision of all golf clubhouse and cart building employees. This opportunity will provide a great opportunity to gain valuable management and oversight experience over the whole golf operation. The Golf Course Manager will work with the individual to build their skills and experience to assist in career growth and development. The typical work week will be 40 hours to provide for a balanced work/life.

FLSA Status: Exempt
Supervision Exercised: As assigned, may supervise employees of Pro Shop, golf cart operation, starters, rangers, and food/beverage concessionaires.
Supervision Received: Receives assignments from the Golf Course Manager or designated representative with opportunities to exercise considerable independent judgment
Skills and Physical Abilities Required:
Computer Equipment and Software Requirements: Knowledge of computer management programs necessary to the ongoing operation, tee time system, point of sale, and inventory control systems is desired.
Education and Experience Required: Education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited two (2) year college with a major in Business/Public Administration, Sports Management/Recreation and Parks Administration, and coursework or experience in accounting and marketing plus practical experience as a managerial level employee. Any equivalent combination of education and experience can be substituted for the education requirements.
