Organization: The Tennessee Section PGA was founded in 1968 for the purpose of promoting the enjoyment and involvement in the game of golf and to contribute to its growth by providing services to golf professionals and the golf industry within the Section boundaries. The Tennessee Section is one of 41 Sections that make up the PGA of America. Our membership, of over 525 men and women professionals, serves golfers in our five PGA Chapters at over 170 golf courses, clubs, practice facilities and other golf related entities throughout Tennessee.
Qualifications:
• A passion and interest in the game of golf.
• Excellent organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with social media platforms.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an exceptional ability to communicate effectively and present information to a variety of audiences.
• Experience in a similar field preferably within the PGA or allied golf associations.
• Knowledge of tournament administration, the golf industry and PGA of America activities, programs, and governance.
• Strong moral character and integrity with leadership qualities.
• Ability to work in a collaborative manner with fellow staff members in a team atmosphere.
• Ability to travel extensively throughout Tennessee and work extended hours including some weekends and evenings.
• Proficient computer skills. Previous experience with Gmail/Google Suite, Adobe Photoshop, MS Office Suite, MailChimp, BlueGolf Tournament Software, iMovie (or other video editing software).
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) Required, preferably in Marketing, Promotions or Media related fields.
• PGA Member or Associate preferred.
Position: Marketing & Communications Manager
Description: The Tennessee PGA is seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager. The Manager will be responsible for the effective communications of the Tennessee Section. This position is responsible for generating creative content and materials to promote, market, and support the goals of the TNPGA and our PGA Professionals. Through the use of social media, website development, media creation, and graphic design this position is responsible for producing original content for each department in the Section.
Requirements:
Media Relations:
• Create and manage the Tennessee PGA Marketing timeline.
• Continuously manage media email and mailing list
• Generate press releases and emails to necessary media outlets.
Website:
• Responsible for daily website maintenance and content.
• Oversee website branding to ensure all banners, logos and content are supportive of the TNPGA and our partner’s brands.
• Design all images and original content including Blue Golf banners, videos and partner promotions.
• Track web analytics and maximize website traffic.
E-Marketing:
• Create and distribute all marketing communications to membership, sponsors and industry partners.
• Manage and organize all marketing databases.
• Manage and organize all communications relating to tournaments, player development programming, education,
chapters and Section partners.
Social Media:
• Responsible for regular updates to the TNPGA Section Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram accounts.
• Ensure content is up to date and relevant to current TNPGA programming and membership.
• Manage social media calendars and strategies.
• Develop and drive social media strategy and initiatives to lead to active engagement.
• Create graphics, videos and content to enhance engagement and interactions.
Press releases:
• Responsible writing and submitting monthly articles to PGA Magazine and Tee Times Magazine promoting the TNPGA and our membership.
• Create and submit press releases for events and programs and send them to media partners and membership.
• Act as a liaison between media outlets and the TNPGA.
Audio/Visual/Graphic Design:
• Responsible for taking pictures and collecting videos at Section events, conducting interviews, and promoting PGA Professionals and our programs.
Awards and DCA:
• Serve as the staff liaison to the Awards and DCA Committees.
• Oversee the section’s award and Distinguished Career Award selection process and award luncheon.
Tournament Promotion:
• Assist tournament staff with promotion of tournament schedule and events.
• Assist with tournament information communications
• Write post event press releases and recaps and conduct post round interviews.
Player Development Promotion:
• Assist Operations Manager with marketing, promotion and event management of the Section’s programming including; Drive, Chip & Putt, PGA Junior League, PGA HOPE and other programming.
Other Duties:
• Oversee Passkey including design, promotion and sales process.
• The TNPGA currently has a full time staff of four employees and multiple interns, so each employee is expected to be cross-trained and provide event support throughout the year.
