Golf House Kentucky (GHK) and the Kentucky Golf Foundation (KGF) is offering an opportunity for individuals to gain valuable insight into the administrative aspect of the golf business by hiring a candidate from a historically underrepresented group to work on our team for a 1-year term. - The PGA WORKS Fellowship provides the opportunity for individuals from historically underrepresented groups with consideration to the following protected classes: Gender, Age, Race/Color, National Origin/Ancestry, Sexual Orientation, Disability and Veteran Status- though anyone is welcome to apply.
- Ultimately, GHK / KGF desires to establish a network of underrepresented talent who are prepared to ascend to key employment positions in the game and business of golf.
The primary focus of this position will be to assist Golf House Kentucky in executing Kentucky Golf Foundation programs in the Youth, Military and Diversity & Inclusion pillars. Program examples include:
- MILITARY Pillar | PGA HOPE Program – PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is the flagship military program of PGA REACH and is designed to introduce golf to veterans with disabilities in order to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being.
- YOUTH Pillar | PGA Jr League – PGA Jr League (PGAJL) is a fun, social and inclusive opportunity for boys and girls ages 13 and under to learn and enjoy the game of golf. Much like other recreational league sports, participants wear numbered jerseys and play on teams with their friends. The kids learn the game among their peers with professional instruction and direction from PGA/LPGA Professionals who serve as team captains. Parents also play an active role, making the program a family activity and creating another generation of players to enjoy the game.
- YOUTH Pillar | Youth on Course – Youth on Course Kentucky provides youth with access to life changing opportunities through golf. The program was originally created by the Northern California Golf Association and has since expanded to all 50 states across the country! Youth on Course is a national 501(c)(3) organization that provides assistance to individual associations to conduct the program int heri region. Youth on Course members can play golf for $5 or less at more than 55 participating golf courses in Kentucky.
- YOUTH Pillar | Drive, Chip & Putt
- A joint initiative founded in 2013 by the Masters Tournament, United States Golf Association and The PGA of America, Drive, Chip & Putt is a free nationwide junior golf development competition aimed at growing the game by focusing on the three fundamental skills employed in golf.
By tapping the creative and competitive spirit of girls and boys ages 7-15, Drive, Chip & Putt provides aspiring junior golfers an opportunity to play with their peers in qualifiers around the country. This free youth golf development initiative welcomes boys and girls ages 7-15 to participate in separate divisions in four age categories. Local qualifying will take place throughout all 50 states during the months of May, June, July and August. Participants who advance through local, sub-regional and regional qualifying in each age/gender category earn a place in the National Finals, which is conducted at Augusta National Golf Club the Sunday before the Masters Tournament and is broadcast live by Golf Channel.
- DIVERSITY & INCLUSION Pillar | PGA WORKS –– PGA WORKS is a workforce diversification strategic initiative designed to evolve the demographic composition of the golf industry workforce and develop a robust pool of talent from historically underrepresented backgrounds who are prepared to ascend to key employment positions in the business of golf.
