Assistant Golf Professional

Bocaire Country Club is seeking an Assistant Golf Professional to join an established Golf Shop team.  We are more than happy to train/mentor an individual that is new to the golf business, if intangible qualities exist.  There are ample opportunities for additional income in the form of Club Repair, Junior Camps/Clinics and Individual/Group Lessons.

Host of the 2022 SFPGA Assistant's Championship (July 25th - 26th).  If you are participating in the event and interested in the position, please stop in and introduce yourself. 

• Must currently be a PGA Member or Apprentice.
• Minimum requirement - Passed Playing Ability Test and ready to enroll in PGA Golf Management Training Program)
• Must be comfortable with the use Golf Shop technologies (Golf Genius, GHIN Handicapping, Microsoft Office Suite) and be ready to learn as new systems emerge.

• Provides assistance for Members and Guests in the Golf Shop.

• Acts as the Golf Shop Supervisor in the absence of the Senior Golf Professional Staff.
• Participates as a team member to accomplish tasks, goals and preparations for all golf activities, training new employees and customer service.
• Organizes and coordinates golf leagues, outings, tournaments, special events.
• Assists with tee-time coordination, golf lesson booking, handicapping, and demo days.
• Assists with on course issues such as pace of play, marking and defining.
• Assists in the maintenance of an accurate inventory.
• Assists in teaching clinics, golf schools, Jr. camps, private/group lessons.
• Performs club repair including grips, cut downs and epoxies.
• Communicates with members, co-workers, management and the general public in a courteous and professional manner.
• Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
• Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor to reflect a positive image of Bocaire Country Club.
• Must have excellent customer service skills.
• Knowledge of golf merchandise is helpful.
• Requires responsibility and accountability.
• Requires good time/task management, and a positive and upbeat attitude.
• Requires proficiency with club repair tools such as a vice, hook blade and shaft cutter.
• Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
• Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with management, co-workers and members.
• Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
