Recognized in 2020 by Links Magazine as one of the best courses in the Northeast the the general public can play, St. Johnsbury has earned a reputation for flawless greens, lush fairways and well-carpeted tees.

The original 9-hole course was designed by Willie & Mungo Parks in 1923. In 1992 Geofrey Cornish was brought in to design and complete the second 9 holes to bring St Johnsbury to it's current 18 holes.  The course winds through 160 acres of lush Vermont countryside with scenic views and rolling terrain. The course is playable for golfers of all skill levels; the greater a player’s ability and imagination, the greater the shot options and potential risks and rewards.

St Johnsbury Country Club is considered one of the “must play” courses in northern Vermont. It's quality layout, excellant conditioning, focus on customer service and inviting clubhouse contribute to a quality golf experience for members and guests alike. 

This position will start on or about the 25th of April and run thru the first week or two of November weather permitting. With a solid contribution to the club this season the candidate will be welcomed back  for the 2024 season as well as working at our sister course in Palm Coast, FL over the winter.

Experience Required

We are looking for a candidate whose skill set includes:

  • Management of daily golf operations including working and supervising daily Pro Shop operations.
  • Working with GM to maintain Pro Shop inventory to meet the needs of the golf course, members, and guests
  • Running member and private party events and tournaments.
  • Familiar with Golf Genius and EZ Pro system or equivalent golf operating systems. We will work with you to become proficient with our Tee Sheet and POS software if you have not used it in the past.
  • Promotion of the club to bring in guests and increase revenues through daily public play, new memberships and new outside events. This includes email marketing, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
  • Efficient operation of the clubhouse facility, golf course and practice facility. 
  • Hiring and management of staff to provide consistent customer service and ensure smooth daily operations
  • Development of a golf instruction program that includes a variety of offerings including clinics and junior golf programs

Essential Responsibilities

  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to have the field vision to prevent problems and engage in problem solving that is efficient and appropiate.
  • Hire, schedule, evaluate, supervise, and train all staff on policies, procedures, and job duties.
  • Oversee the golf cart fleet and staff.
  • Lead by example by demonstrating a strong work ethic, professional & respectful conduct with members, guests and staff.
  • Work as a team player to ensure a quality guest experience and professional facility presentation. This is a hands on position.
  • Manages all tournaments, outings, clinics, and junior programs.
  • Ensure that company policies are followed.
  • Promote membership in the community and at the club
