The Sharon Country Club
The Sharon Country Club is a private member-owned country club located in Sharon, CT and is in the CT PGA Section. Sharon is nestled the Litchfield Hills of NW Connecticut. SCC is one of the finest clubs of its kind in the Northeast. Sharon, CT and the surrounding area is a 2 hour drive from New York City and is a popular summer and weekend destination for New York City residence. Founded in 1895, its facilities include a classically designed 9-hole golf course with a variety of tee locations to create an appealing and fair golf experience for all levels of play. Well know golden age course designer, Tom Bendelow is credited with the original course design. The teeing variety also creates a unique 18-hole rotation. The club’s practice facilities are unparallel and include a 15-station, grass tee, full length driving range, a large putting green, a dedicated short game practice facility and a 3-hole short course. The club’s facilities also include 4 har-tru tennis courts, 2 paddle tennis courts, a full service golf pro shop, a full size bag room and a main clubhouse, which overlooks the scenic Litchfield Hills. Over the last 9 years, the club has invested in a new driving range and short game practice facility, a new 3-hole short course, a new bag room and has renovated the golf pro shop and the main clubhouse. More recently, the club has implemented its new long-term golf course renovation plan under the guidance of emerging Golf Course Architect Matt Dusenberry. SCC has a full membership with a waiting list and a very active golfing membership with over 200 member families whom play approximately 8,000 rounds annually.
