Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00 Per Hour

Total Anticipated Compensation Up To: $55,000.00

Overview

Founded in 1883, the Capital City Club is among the premier private clubs in the South. The Club has a rich history in support of golf for its members, as well as local, state and national golf associations; having recently hosted the 2013 NCAA D-1 Men’s Golf Championships and being named the host club for the 2016 Georgia State Amateur Championship, as well as the 2017 USGA Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship. The Club has 2,600 members within all membership classifications and over 1,800 golf members with registered handicaps. There are three distinct club facilities: a City Club in downtown Atlanta, a fine dining and catering venue; Brookhaven, a multiple use facility with a championship 18-hole golf course, 3,600 square foot golf shop, 11 tennis courts, fitness center, swimming pool, and extensive food and beverage operations; and Crabapple, with a championship 18-hole golf course, 1,800 square foot golf shop and clubhouse. Capital City is open year-round and hosts a full calendar of club, golf, tennis and holiday events.

Experience Required

  • PGA member or associate 
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • Experience in a high-end, private country club setting preferred
  • Competitive golf background
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel, technologically savvy
  • Strong work ethic and detail oriented
  • Present a professional image and appearance at all times
  • Exceptional communicator, both verbal and written
  • Willingness to learn and grow both personally and professionally, with aspirations to become a Head Professional

Essential Responsibilities

Capital City Club is seeking a PGA Member or Associate for the position of Assistant Golf Professional. The selected candidate will work closely with the Director of Golf, Head Golf Professional, Merchandise Manager, as well as two other Assistant Golf Professionals; to ensure the highest level of service to the Capital City membership and their guests. This candidate will learn the entirety of golf operations working alongside an experienced team of PGA Professionals.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES

  • Provide exemplary service to both members and guests of the Capital City Club. Have a service-minded attitude.
  • Serve as an ambassador of the club by tirelessly promoting, serving and representing the Capital City Club and understanding the importance of both the golf operation and the club as a whole.
  • Maintain an active role in the merchandise operation, working closely with the Merchandise Manager.
  • Assist the Head Professional and Lead Assistant in the implementation of all golf operation policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a high level playing ability
  • Work closely with the Outside Service Leader; monitoring and maintaining the required pace of play and managing the practice areas.
  • Assist in managing the Crabapple “youth based caddie program”.
