Assistant Golf Professional

Compensation: $15.00 - $16.00 Per Hour

Total Anticipated Compensation Up To: $45,000.00

Overview

Crosswinds Golf Club is a 27-hole facility made up of a 18-hole Championship course and 9-hole par 3 course. We have a driving range renovation scheduled to start August 2024. We will be installing a 20-bay covered, lit, Toptracer driving range. Crosswinds is family owned and operated. Crosswinds is a busy facility doing 55,000+ rds on all 27 holes annually. We strive to have a fun, laid back work environment that all of our members and guest enjoy.

Job Accountabilities

  • Performs all necessary duties that are involved with the daily operation of the Golf Shop.
  •  
  • Ensure that all Opening, Shift and Closing Procedures for the Golf Shop and Outside Operations are adhered to during your shift.
  • Perform all necessary steps when checking in a customer to play golf.  This includes proper entry into the tee sheet of each player, acceptance of accurate and acceptable payment and proper entry of any other item that the player might need.  It is important to ask each player if they need any additional items, like range balls etc.
  • Junior golf program- clinic, camps, junior league
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and presentable clubhouse.  This includes making sure that all restrooms, the restaurant and outside the clubhouse are kept clean and orderly.
  • Ensure that the phones are answered in a timely manner and using the GGP script. 
  • Ensure that the golf shop is kept clean on a daily basis.  This includes but is not limited to dusting, vacuuming, cleaning windows, cleaning walls and cleaning spider webs.
  • Ensure that all golf shop merchandise is kept clean and well organized on a daily basis.  This might involve moving merchandise to help better fill the golf shop or give the golf shop a cleaner look.  This also includes running promotions and sales in an attempt to move product.
  • Fully understand the Golf Genius program through proper training by your supervisor.
  • Responsible for the general setup, execution and breakdown of all golf tournaments and golf groups.  This might include but is not limited to:
    • Communicating with the customer prior to the event in order to get any necessary information that is pertinent to the event.
    • Use Golf Genius to setup any necessary documentation that is pertinent to the event.
    • Produce a handwritten scoreboard.
    • Ensure that all points on the tournament checklist have been completed on time.
    • Ensure that any other aspect of the event runs smooth.
  • Fully understand the GHIN computer system through proper training by your supervisor.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the outside golf operation are maintained and are kept to Gallea Golf Properties standards.
  • Create the schedule for all inside and outside staff members on a weekly basis.
  • Communicate with the Head Golf Professional and General Manager on a daily basis.
  • Respond to any emergency and follow all emergency procedures.
  • Reports any maintenance concerns on the golf course to the Head Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with the Head and Assistant Superintendent.
  • Works closely with management and maintenance staff in developing an integral team that effectively represents the quality and professionalism of GGP at Crosswinds GC.
  • Represents GGP at Crosswinds GC in a professional manner at all times, on or off property.
  • Attends and participates in training seminars as requested.
  • Assists other staff members as needed.
  • Drives motorized vehicle on property for company business.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Must work within the guidelines of the Gallea Golf Properties, LLC employee handbook.

Experience Required

  • Minimum Education:  High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum Experience:  1 Year
  • Preferred Field of Expertise:  Golf Operations
  • Preferred Professional Education:  Level 1 PGA Apprentice
  • Must be enrolled and in good standing with PGA program in order to teach lessons.

Lessons- Lesson rate is based on experience ($80-100 per hour) Lessons are paid on a 80/20% spilt with club.

Lessons are to be taught on the clock during non golf shop scheduled hours.
