In 1994 Kalos Golf introduced the golf cruise, a new concept in travel. Chartering the Sea Cloud family of ships, Kalos began transporting golfers comfortably and stylishly to the top courses in Europe. Over the last 30 years, they have expanded their selection of uniquely designed golf itineraries to include private jet tours to different destinations around the world. Kalos Golf cruises combine the best of global golf and touring with the relaxation of sailing on small, luxurious vessels. Unlike companies that fill their ships with hundreds of passengers, Kalos Golf charters five-star vessels that accommodate no more than 120 guests. In essence, these ships become a private club providing the perfect atmosphere for an intimate travel experience. In addition to providing great golf in historic locations, Kalos Golf arranges daily tours for those not playing golf. Expert guides lead these tours to explore the treasures of the areas they visit.

In an effort to reach more out of the way destinations, Kalos Golf introduced private air journeys in 2014 with a Golf Around the World trip on a privately chartered 757.  Private jet trips to Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and South America have also been added.

Located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Kalos Golf has carved a strong niche within the Golf and Travel industry by defining a new segment of “Golf Cruises.” The company has established a strong brand among the top private golf clubs in the U.S. through targeted direct mail and e-commerce strategies.  Clients from around the world confirm that high touch service, comfort, convenience and camaraderie are the hallmark of a Kalos Tour. 

Kalos Golf is seeking a golf industry veteran to join their team as a Tour Director.  Kalos Tour Directors are responsible for planning and executing world class, group golf excursions for their exclusive clientele on chartered luxury vessels and private jet tours around the world.  The successful candidate will have extensive international travel experience working with discriminating members in high service environments.  Candidates must be extremely organized and resourceful problem solvers who understand the importance of building and maintaining relationships with Kalos clients. 

The ability to comfortably interact and engage with guests and ensure positive memorable experiences on their journeys is of paramount importance.  Knowledge of international tour and travel industry is a plus, as well as event planning and execution.  While golf is not a daily requirement, candidates must understand the basics of the game and golf event operations.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential characteristics necessary to excel at Kalos Golf.  An in-depth understanding of the highest levels of service in the international arena and the ability to seamlessly execute complex itineraries is critically important.

Candidates must enjoy working in a team environment with other experienced Tour Directors and Tour Administrators to ensure industry leading customer service and golf experiences for Kalos clients.

Tour Directors are responsible for planning and managing the logistics of all aspects of each tour for approximately 90-100 guests. They coordinate with experienced European support staff to ensure the smallest of details are proactively anticipated and managed. 

Memorably designed daily activities for those guests not wishing to golf every day will be organized and overseen by the Tour Directors.  Detailed tour binders are created identifying every aspect of each tour including contingent plans for unforeseen obstacles and weather related challenges.  The Tour Director’s ability to manage and communicate changing events, ensuring guests are well accommodated throughout the entire tour, is critical.

Candidates must enjoy and embrace international travel and the many nuances associated with the responsibility of ensuring discriminating guests are well looked after.  Kalos prides itself that every tour is an extension of their client’s private club experiences.

Salary: Open and commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Kalos Golf offers a competitive bonus and benefit package. Kalos Golf will assist with relocation expenses.
