Operation 36 Academy Director

The Position

This position is for an Academy Director who will work for Operation 36 HQ, a division of Golf Genius in North Carolina, at one of its corporate on-site locations. The Academy Director will work hand in hand with the coaching staff of our corporate Academy and the co-founders of Operation 36, in addition to working with HQ to help improve the Operation 36 program for facilities using it around the world.

Operation 36 Golf, a Division of Golf Genius, is on a mission to improve the way we introduce and progress beginners in playing the game of golf.  Learning to play golf can be frustrating if you don’t have a plan.  We believe that new golfers deserve a motivating model, technology, and educational roadmap to make becoming a skilled golfer a fun and motivating experience. The program and technology give golfers a step-by-step approach to go from their first 9 holes to shooting par (36) from a full tee box!

Over the past 15 years, we have grown to over 800 locations led by 1200 passionate Golf Professionals who have introduced over 150,000 golfer participants. Our network's goal is to welcome 1,000,000 new golfers over the next five years.

Experience required

• Formal education

• 2+ years prior golf coaching experience
• Prefer prior Operation 36 experience; not required

• When practicing and playing consistently, the ability to break 80 on a regular basis.
• Desire to play weekly with students and members of the club.
• Love playing the game of golf and have a strong desire to improve your own game.

Essential Responsibilities

This is a full-time coaching and leadership position.  This coach will run a full-scale Operation 36 Academy.  They will work with a dynamic team of Operation 36 coaches here at our HQ in North Carolina and help to test/refine the prototype Operation 36 program for facilities around the world.  We want someone who loves to come up with ideas on how to make things better, test those ideas, and then refine them.  We want someone who fills their energy tank by coaching, helping their students achieve their goals, and finds more joy in seeing others succeed than themselves.  

The Academy Director has an important role within Operation 36 Golf, which is changing the way families are taught and growing the game around the world.  

The Academy Director is responsible for organizing, planning, and executing the Operation 36 Long-Term Academy Programming and Marketing Efforts at his/her facility.  Our goal is to deliver a World-Class Long-Term Academy at each location and we need a passionate and dedicated Academy Director to be the leader.  The Academy Director ultimately serves as the lead point of contact for Operation 36 Golf Corporate, Partnering Facility (Golf Course and or Range), Parents, and Students.  Our corporate coaches will be given the training and resources to become skilled coaches, and we must be the leaders in showcasing how golfers should be taught worldwide!

In addition, our Academy Directors teach private lessons to improve their coaching relationships with members and guests and increase revenue.  

We are looking for leaders who not only want to continue to sharpen their skills as a communicator, leader, and golf coach, yet are still looking to serve a bigger purpose in changing the way golfers are taught around the world!

Compensation and Benefits

• Compensation
• Year 1 total comp estimated at $50k+
• Year 2 total comp estimated at $55k+
• Year 3 total comp estimated at $60k+
• Work with the corporate team at Operation 36 to develop, test, and distribute new training protocols to other Operation 36 facilities around the world.

• Playing - Dedicated time each week to keep your game sharp and play on the course with your students.  We want you to work on your game and motivate those around you as a role model who can demonstrate a high skill level.

• Launch Monitor and Technology to deliver quality lessons and manage your Operation 36 Academy and private lessons.  You can run your entire Academy off of an iPad Pro.
• Dedicated Operations Manager to handle the billing and registration for your Academy and Private lessons.  You will not be solely responsible for this area of the business.  We want you to focus on what you do best: coaching and playing with your students.
• Access to a world-class marketing team at Operation 36 to help build your marketing materials to help you fill your programs and lessons.
• Receive training directly from the Operation 36 co-founders and corporate team who help over 800 facilities around the world in 16 different countries to deliver world-class programming.
• You will be guided in your onboarding (Day 1 - Day 90) and once you are running your Academy full-time by your Operation 36 program advisor.  This program advisor has taught Academy’s for 5+ years and is an expert in helping others succeed.
• You will also work with our proprietary Op36 Playbook that only Corporate Coaches have access to.  We have spent the last 15 years figuring out what a coach needs to do on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis to be wildly successful.  This playbook will be helpful for you to be clear on what items you need to knock out and more importantly, it clears your mind to focus on problem-solving and deeper thinking areas.  Our Corporate Coaches love knowing exactly what they need to take care of each day to be successful.
