WHO IS THE SOUTH FLORIDA PGA
The South Florida PGA was established as a non-profit association consisting of qualified golf professionals dedicated to promoting the game of golf, elevating the image of the PGA and its members, providing educational and playing opportunities, as well as perpetuating employment opportunities for its members. The South Florida PGA office administers approximately twenty professional golf tournaments, over twenty qualifiers in conjunction with the PGA Tour, Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Champions Tour, and nearly one hundred junior golf events throughout the year. The South Florida PGA office is responsible for serving 2,000 South Florida PGA members and associates along with approximately 1,200 South Florida Junior Golf members and over 14,000 Golf Pass customers.
In addition to Section operations, the South Florida PGA has a Foundation established in 2004. The foundation's mission is to impact lives throughout the South Florida community through the game of golf. The Foundation focuses its efforts on youth, the military, and families.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The SFPGA is looking for a candidate who brings with them a proactive, forward-thinking, growth mindset, and has a passion for tournament operations and a desire to elevate their career. In addition, we are looking for someone who has a service mindset and a passion for serving junior golfers nationwide, PGA of America members, and associates. The ideal candidate must be willing to do thesmall and mundane tasks that are required for the success of the team and overall organization.
This position requires a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. Experience in golf tournament administration and operations is required.
Prior attendance of a USGA / PGA Rules of Golf Workshop is recommended.
CANDITATE ATTRIBUTES
This candidate should display a strong moral character and unquestionable integrity. He or she should be self-motivated, driven, and passionate about the game of golf. The ability to work independently and without direct supervision is required.
He or she should show professionalism in all forms, excellent written, verbal, and oral communication skills, and a detail-orientated mindset, and be able to serve as a representative of the company.
Knowledge of BlueGolf tournament software would be preferred, and computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, and knowledge of the Rules of Golf.
This individual will be required to work weekends and some holidays. Possess the ability to lift fifty (50) pounds and work outside in hot conditions.
JOB OVERVIEW
The South Florida PGA and South Florida PGA Foundation is looking for a responsible individual to assist in the day-to-day operation of the junior golf department. The activities of the junior golf department include the South Florida PGA Junior Membership program, four (4) junior golf tours (Links, Prep, Medalist, Majors), junior and high school championships, PGA Junior League, and Drive, Chip and Putt competitions. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, overseeing the management, coordination,
and execution of all assigned events and/or programs.
The position requires a significant amount of work onsite at events, working independently while leading support staff. Due to the required onsite work, there will be extensive travel (some overnight) within the South Florida PGA boundaries.
Junior Golf Tour Programming, Administration and Support
• Handle the administration of assigned events/tournaments, including preliminary communication with both the host facility, along with players and parents, onsite operations, pre and post-event responsibility.
• Manage the creation of junior tour event pages in BlueGolf for the upcoming season
• Manage Membership Statistics
• Package and handle inventory for Junior Tour membership kits
• As directed, provide necessary and needed support for various department activities including Drive, Chip, and Putt Qualifiers, PGA Junior League, as well as junior and high school championships.
• Assist with recruiting and obtaining facilities to host Junior Golf events.
• Aid in the continued growth and development of programming including but not limited to the alumni program, college recruiting, etc.
• Assist in the activation of all partnerships onsite during events
• Develop strong relationships with junior golf players and families in an effort to provide a high level of service
• Perform all other duties as requested, including support of Section and additional Foundation events and programs periodically throughout the year
Managerial Responsibility
• This position will supervise independent contractors and interns on-site at Section and Junior Tour activities. In addition, this position will effectively direct PGA and non-PGA volunteers.
• This position will handle the execution of host facility agreements
• This position will be responsible handling threatening weather conditions during the execution of events.
Financial Responsibility
• Responsible for managing, maintaining, and functioning within assigned budgets.
