Job Title: Head Golf Professional

Location: Spring Creek Golf Course, Spring Creek, Nevada

Compensation:

Base Salary: $55,000 per year

Additional Compensation: Anticipated $17,500 (5% of green fees, annual passes, cart rentals)

Other Terms

• Insurance Requirements: Must be able to provide General Liability, Workman’s Compensation insurance (if necessary) and any other insurance within 30 days.
• Indemnification and Release: Must be willing to indemnify and hold Spring Creek Association Harmless from any and all non-SCA liability.
• Independent Contractor: Must work as an independent contractor.

About Spring Creek Golf Course

Spring Creek Golf Course, established in 1973, is nestled at the base of the majestic Ruby Mountains. This 18-hole, par 71 course is spread over a hilly terrain, offering diverse elevation changes and uneven lies. The course features Bent Grass greens and Bermuda Grass fairways.

About Spring Creek Association

The Spring Creek Association is a private, property owners’ association and maintains a 23.4 square mile rural community with 5,420 lots, located near the Ruby Mountains. The community features numerous outdoor recreational amenities and provides rural Nevada living with various facilities and services suitable for families and newcomers. The Spring Creek Association is governed by a seven-member board who is elected by the community. The President of the Association reports directly to the board and hires and manages the operations of all other departments within the Association. The Golf Professional would report directly to the President.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a golf professional or assistant professional at a regulation length golf course as defined by the PGA.
• PGA Class A Member.
• At least 2 years of experience in golf instruction, including youth lessons and programs.
• Experience in golf tournament management.
• Ability to maintain and manage rental equipment.
• Proficiency in maintaining pro shop inventory with equipment and apparel.

Operational Management:

• Collection and proper accounting of all monies received.
• Supervise competent staff to ensure quality operations and customer satisfaction.
• Enforce and communicate all policies and rules to staff and patrons.
• Expected to be present during the golf season (March – October) and at all tournaments.
• Ability to schedule events, tournaments, and coordinate with restaurant operations while maximizing space.
• Maintain and manage pro shop inventory and patrons' pro shop credits throughout the season.
• SCA provides a minimum of 50 golf carts for rentals and provides maintenance for these. At times, you may be required to do light maintenance and upkeep of these carts.
• Devise plans to increase revenue, organize programs and tournaments, and drive traffic to the course and facility.

Leadership and Communication:

• Manage employees and volunteers, and maintain the golf course marshal program.
• Maintain and provide financial records including monthly reports, POS system reports, and yearly financials.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies for the facility and draft annual PR plans.
• Establish and maintain communication systems with the Association, staff, and public regarding tournaments, programs, events, and general PR.
• Provide customer service training to staff to ensure maximum satisfaction.
• Prepare and present monthly and annual reports to the Association as requested.
• Collaborate with the golf course superintendent regarding operations and course aesthetics.
