Assistant Golf Professional

Toledo Country Club has a rich history and tradition along with a great legacy of assistant professionals moving onward and upward in the golf industry. This position will assist the Head Golf Professional in providing Toledo Country Club's (TCC) Members and guests an exceptional private golf experience. 

This position will report directly to the Head Golf Professional and will be highly encouraged to operate seasonally while maintaining employment during the winter months in a warmer climate. 

The Head Professional will assist this candidate with future placement consistent with their career goals. 

The selected candidate shall have a minimum of 1-year experience as an assistant golf professional or intern at a similar facility. A PGA Apprentice in good standing working towards membership with the PGA of America. Candidates with a strong desire for the game of golf and career advancement will be highly considered.

• Assist in the maintenance of a profitable retail concession in line with the mission of the golf operation and facility. 
• Create a positive shopping experience for members and guests through effective merchandising techniques.
• Utilize the POS system for all transactions, inventory control & credit book distribution.
• Execute a “Best in Class” Junior Golf Program with support from Head Golf Professional. Junior program effectiveness will be consistently evaluated and tailored to member needs.
• Assist in all player development programs with an emphasis on juniors, women & families.
• Assist the Head Golf Professional with Ladies Clinics and Playing Lessons.
• Conduct individual private golf lessons to all membership segments.
• Provide a comprehensive club fitting experience by using TrackMan.
• Administer a tournament operations program using Golf Genius tournament software.
• Adhere to, implement, and enforce club rules, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain golf shop policies and procedures.
• Knowledgeable on the Rules of Golf and administer/interpret when necessary.
• Assist in the administration of the World Handicap System. 
• Assist with ordering merchandise and processing special orders.
• Perform club repair efficiently and properly.
• Communicate effectively will all staff members and department heads.
• Utilize the Club website to provide updated tournament results and information about upcoming programs and services available to the membership.
• Assist in overseeing all areas of outside operations (bagroom, staging area, cart barn, and practice facilities).
• Play golf with members on a weekly basis, when the tournament calendar allows.

• Weekly Salary - $800 to $1000 commensurate with experience
• Seasonal position, April 1st through November 1st
• Individual Golf Instruction - $1,000 to $5,000
• Junior Golf Program & Clinic Income - $1,000 to $4,000
• Club Repair Commission - $500 to $1,000
• PGA/GBN Dues Paid
• Full playing and practice privileges
• Staff uniforms provided at no charge
• Equipment contract with a vendor
