Built in 2002 and designed by renowned golf course architect Jay Morrish, Falcon Lakes Golf Club is considered one of Kansas City’s best public golf courses. Our fun track is a links-style layout with gracious zoysia fairways, large, undulating greens and multiple tee boxes on every hole.

Continued investment in the golf course and facilities helped to name Falcon Lakes as host of the 2023 Kansas Amateur, the only public golf course in Kansas City to host this wonderful event.

POSITION:  Assistant Golf Professional                                                                                                                               

REPORTS TO:  General Manager & Head Professional

Position Summary:

The Assistant Golf Professional assists the Head Professional with all golf shop activities and outside services operations and is responsible for ensuring that daily fee customers and members receive outstanding customer service, which meets or exceeds their expectations.   The Assistant Golf Professional is instrumental in the organizing and implementing of corporate golf events, club sponsored tournaments, daily leagues, golf instruction and other golf programs designed to improve Falcon Lakes Golf Clubs products and services.

• Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
• PGA or PGM graduate preferred
• Experience with Office programs, Golf Genius, and POS systems.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Positive attitude, professional manner, and appearance in all situations.

• Assist in implementing applicable FLGC operating policies and procedures pertaining to golf shop and outside service activities. Ensure procedures are followed to open, close, and secure the golf shop and storage buildings.
• Handle cash flow in the golf shop, ensuring that cash and credit card charges balance with sales receipts in accordance with operating procedures.
• Ensure that the golf shop, storage areas, cart building, and clubhouse grounds are maintained per FLGC cleanliness and appearance standards. Maintain clean, presentable, and fully stocked merchandise displays.
• Interact with members and daily fee patrons in a congenial and professional manner.
• Always maintain pleasant and professional telephone manner. Schedule tee times and handle customer inquiries and/or complaints in accordance with operating policies and procedures.
• Assist with organizing and implementing corporate golf events, club sponsored tournaments, golf leagues, golf instruction and other golf programs. Ensure efficient operation and coordination of golf shop, cart service and other services as applicable.
• Be fully knowledgeable of golf shop merchandise. Sell merchandise and/or provide suggestions to patrons as appropriate to meet their needs.
• Take a leadership role with organizing and maintaining ancillary services such as the cart operations, driving range facility and handicapping system.
• Facilitate the golf instruction through both group and individual instruction. Work to grow our instruction programming and revenues.
