Assistant Golf Professional

Compensation: $51,000.00 - $62,000.00 Per Year

Total Anticipated Compensation Up To: $70,000.00

Overview

The Assistant Golf Professional works under the administrative direction of the Director of Golf Operations and Head Golf Professional.  The Assistant Golf Professional supervises, conducts, and teaches group golf clinics and group golf lessons; assists with inventory control; follows daily procedures; schedules staff; maintains and completes golf club repairs; assists in outing operation; updates calendar of events, administers leagues, fills online orders and oversees pro shop operations.

Experience Required

Must be 21 years of age or older.  Minimum of 2 years golf course operation experience required.  Previous golf instruction experience is preferred.  Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.  Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, outlook, teams) experience preferred.  Golf Genius software experience a plus.  Must obtain CPR and BASSET within 30 days of start of employment.  Must have a valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.  Working toward a Class “A” membership in the PGA of America preferred.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of and the ability to teach and conduct golf clinics and private lessons.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory control.  Oversees online order fulfillment.
  • Knowledge of personnel management and the ability to supervise full and part-time employees.
  • Knowledge of time management techniques and the ability to use skills in development work schedules and adhering to timelines.
  • Ability to analyze current procedures and implement cost effective operations.
  • Knowledge of public relations techniques and the ability to transfer these to department employees and the public.
  • Oversee all cart and outside operations staff.
  • Obeys and enforces the practical safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the safety program that is pertinent to the activities conducted by the department.
  • Provides continuing safety instruction while issuing daily work assignments to focus attention upon potential hazards, changes in work conditions or procedures.
  • Continually observes and evaluates work conditions and work procedures to detect and correct unsafe conditions and practices.
  • Promptly reports to supervisor all accidents and injuries occurring within the course of employment, no matter how minor.
  • Cooperate with and assist in the investigation of accidents to identify causes and corrective measure to prevent their reoccurrence.
  • Oversees and coordinates programs for the weekend permanent tee time holders.
  • Assists in the implementation of the club sponsored tournament programs and events.
  • In the event of the absence of the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional, oversees the entire operation in a supervisory capacity.
  • Supports DTPD’s Mission Statement, by providing excellent service to the community.
  • Completed all additional duties as prescribed by management.
