Golf Shop Attendant

The Royal Fox Country Club is in St. Charles, IL. This private club has a total of 275 members with 215 active full golf members. The club does 14,000 rounds annually. The course was designed by Richard Nugent in 1989 to evolve around the existing natural environment while providing a challenging 6,816-yard par 71 golf course. The Royal Fox has been awarded the honor of hosting the prestigious Illinois PGA Open seven times in eleven years. Flexible scheduling to promote Work-Life balance is a focus of our operation and will be a priority for management.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Golf Shop Attendant to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional service to our guests while promoting a welcoming atmosphere in the golf shop. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a passion for golf, and the ability to engage with customers effectively. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of customer service and total satisfaction for members and guests.

• Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred, ideally within a golf or sporting goods environment.
• Familiarity with collaboration sales techniques is a plus, along with a strong ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Basic knowledge of golf equipment and terminology is beneficial but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations.
• Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills, effective communication skills orally and in writing.
• Self-motivated with a service and customer focused attitude.

• Maintain a welcoming and positive attitude to promote a quality golf experience to members and guests and to enrich the work environment for team members.
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times.
• Assist in the promotion, planning, organization and execution of the highest quality golf events for members, guests and outside entities.

Operations

• Handle phone inquiries with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette while addressing customer questions or concerns.
• Assist with golfer check-in, control, and manage play and tee sheet data capture and optimization.
• Process transactions accurately using the POS system.
• Ensure that the golf shop is clean, orderly, well stocked and professionally presented at all times.
• Execute the daily operations of the golf shop.

• Golf Retail
  • Greet and assist customers as they enter the golf shop, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Offer specialist advice using product knowledge, recommend products and services to exceed customer expectations.
  • Assist in inventory control of hard goods, soft goods and special orders including ordering procedures, receiving procedures and point of sale.
  • Monitor and regularly update sales display areas and merchandise high traffic areas.
  • Provide knowledgeable recommendations on golf equipment, apparel, and accessories to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain an organized and visually appealing sales floor by restocking merchandise and ensuring cleanliness.
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving shipments and conducting stock counts as needed.
