Blacksburg Country Club, located in Blacksburg, VA. is an 18-hole private member-owned facility established in 1956 that has approximately 660 members. Blacksburg Country Club offers all of the first-class amenities of a country club in a relaxed, comfortable, family-friendly atmosphere. BCC is situated on 175 acres in the beautiful Ellett Valley, approximately 25 miles from Roanoke, VA and 5 miles from the campus of Virginia Tech. Athletic facilities include a recently renovated 18-hole championship golf course, a new indoor practice facilty, driving range, a junior Olympic heated swimming pool, splash pad, four outdoor tennis courts, four outdoor pickle ball courts and a fitness room. The 6,645yard championship course winds through the beautiful Ellet Valley, surrounded by mountains, trees and the North Fork of the Roanoke River. The clubhouse is a great place to gather after a round of golf or to relax among friends.

Blacksburg Country Club is home to the Lanto Championship, an AJGA tournament, and is also the founding home of the New Rever Valley Junior Golf Academy.

The Assistant Golf Professional will be involved in all aspects of the Golf Operation from interacting with members and guests, Pro Shop Operations, Tournament Coordination, Teaching, Club Fittings, Club Repair, Outside Operations, Merchandising, Starting, Rangering, Men's, Ladies and Junior Golf Programs.

• PGA Member or Associate (Preferred)
• POS software 
• Golf Genius Tournament Software
• Trackman
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the USGA Rules of Golf
• Experience at a private club is preferred
• Effective oral and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills
• Golf shop merchandising and management skills
• Strong tournament operations experience
• High attention to detail and organizational skills

• Assist the Head Golf Professional in all facets of the golf operation
• Assist with ordering, receiving, pricing, and managing inventory, merchandising, and special orders 
• Plan, promote and assist in directing all golf activities
• Assist in reserving tee times, starting, and monitoring of play
• Assist in overseeing the administration of the tournament programs
• Assist in managing and executing member instruction programs (men, ladies, juniors)

• Play golf with members of all skill levels
• Assist with managing the outside golf service
• Assist with member/guest check-in 
• Assist with all opening and closing procedures
• Assist in Player Development programs
• Assist in managing golf car fleet operation, practice facility, and club storage service
• Provide club repair and club fitting services
• Blacksburg Country Club is open year-round and hosts approximately 20,000 rounds a year. The Assistant Golf Professional can expect to work an average work week of 40 - 50 hours with two days off. As the club hosts major events and/or Monday Outings, the golf professional staff will have some 6-day work weeks as necessary.
