Eel River Golf Course is a Public Golf Course located in the northeast corner of the state of Indiana near the city of Fort Wayne. Eel River GC was founded in 1965 by Ernest Duncan who wanted to bring a golf experience to the community of Churubusco. Eel River Golf Course boasts a 6226 yard design that features rolling terrain, beautiful Indiana deciduous trees, and an immaculately conditioned Par 71 design. The facility is unique for northern Indiana as the job is year-around due to a 3500 square feet room connected to the Pro Shop that features an artificial putting green and five Full Swing golf simulators. When the outside season wraps up in late November, the Simulator season begins inside. The facility also offers Club Fitting and Club Repair services as well. A qualified candidate will receive a complete training experience at Eel River Golf Course under the direction of Jeff Huffman, the PGA Head Golf Professional

Job Title: Lead Assistant Golf Professional 
Starting Date: Immediately 

Position Concept: The Assistant Golf Professional assists the Head Golf Professional in the management of day-to-day golf operations of the facility. The position is responsible for supervising and managing total golf operations in the absence of the Head Golf Professional. The Assistant Golf Professional shall be an ambassador for Eel River GC and the game of Golf. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the high-level service to all patrons of Eel River GC.

Head Professional Bio: 
After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Trine University in Angola, Indiana where he competed on the Men's Varsity Golf Team, Jeff became an Assistant Golf Professional at the university golf course. Later he took the job of Assistant Golf Professional at Sycamore Hills Golf Club, a Jack Nicklaus designed Top 100 facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Jeff gained his PGA Membership while at Sycamore Hills becoming the PGA Lead Assistant. Jeff won his first PGA Head Professional position at the newly opening Cobblestone Golf Course in Kendallville, Indiana. After many years at Cobblestone, Jeff found his next challenge at Glendarin Hills back in Angola as their PGA Head Golf Professional. In 2017, Jeff had a fantastic opportunity to take the PGA Head Golf Professional position at Eel River Golf Course in Churubusco, Indiana where Jeff grew up playing and learning the game of golf. Jeff is known by his peers as a top facility administrator, accomplished instructor, and player of the game.

• Assist with day-to-day Snack Bar Operation 
• Assist with the management of Clubhouse staff ensuring the highest quality

• Assist in managing facility tournament operations 
• Assist with golfer check-in and fee collection 
• In the absence of the Head Professional, lead First Tee/Golfer Starts and Pace of 
• Play 
• Lead according to shift, opening and closing procedures 
• Assist in golf car management 
• Assist in golf club repair and re-gripping 
• Assist with junior programs and clinics 

Annual Total Compensation 
$55,000-$70,000 based on experience
(Including Base Salary, Lessons, and Additional Income)
